15-09-2014 - SUPERTRAM NETWORK RETURNS TO NORMAL
Supertram has resumed a normal service across the network following the completion of work to replace large sections of track and repair a hole near the tram system.
08-09-2014 - Blue and Purple Route UPDATE
Due to a hole adjacent to the Supertram track at Park Square, the Blue and Purple route services are only able to operate as far as Sheffield Station from Halfway and Herdings Park. We have decided to run a dedicated shuttle bus service, the R1, which will operate between Granville Road tram stop and Angel Street. Please click on the more button for further information.
01-09-2014 - Blue and Purple Routes
Sheffield Supertram services on the Blue and Purple Routes are currently suspended between Sheffield Station and the City Centre following the discovery of a hole in the ground on an embankment near to the tram track. The yellow route from Meadowhall to Cathedral is unaffected, and replacement buses continue to serve tramstops from Cathedral to Middlewood / Malin Bridge.
Although the problem is not with the tram infrastructure itself, due to its proximity to the network, it had the potential to affect the safe running of this part of the Supertram system and for that reason the decision has been taken to temporarily suspend services through the area whilst engineers investigate.
