Buying your ticket
Purchasing a ticket couldn't be easier. All trams have conductors who sell most single, day and weekly tickets tickets. Please try to tender the correct fare and keep your ticket to hand. We can carry up to 250 passengers on a tram and it's not always easy for the conductor to remember who he or she has seen. We also have regular inspections by senior members of staff who may also ask to see your ticket.

Adult single fares
£1.50, £2.00, £2.20, £2.50 and £2.70 singles. Single adult tickets increasing in price according to the distance travelled.
Extra information
- Single tickets are valid for 1 hour from time of purchase for travelling away from the boarding location.
- Passengers changing trams/routes or transfering to or from Supertram Link during their journey do not need to purchase another ticket.
- The tram only megarider is not valid on SupertramLink services.
- There are no ordinary return tickets available on Supertram. If more than one journey is being planned the dayrider ticket at £4.00 may be the most cost effective.
- Promotional tickets or special offers issued by Stagecoach buses are NOT valid for travel on Supertram unless otherwise stated.
Concessionary Journeys
Holders of a South Yorkshire or English National Senior Citizen concessionary pass are entitled to free travel after 09:00AM Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays. Full fare is payable at all other times. Holders of South Yorkshire or English National disabled persons passes are entitled to free travel all day, every day. London Freedom pass holders are also be entitled to free travel on Supertram as above.
Children
- Under 5's - free
- 5-10 years inclusive - 70p on any single journey
- 11-15 years inclusive - 70p but MUST be in possession of a valid South Yorkshire Megatravel pass. Children from outside South Yorkshire are not eligible for this scheme and full fare is payable for all journies.
- A commercial child single and return ticket is available for travel to Killamarshon using the SL3 tramlink service. This is available to under 16's only.
- Also available for all children is the explorer (see below for details)
Students
Unirider tickets are available online to students of both universities and and also students studying at Sheffield College. The Unirider provides discounted travel per term or annually (academic year) on both Supertram and Stagecoach buses in Sheffield. Student 80p single tickets are not available on tram. MULTI USE TICKETS
Monthly Megarider - £48.00
This ticket is not sold on the tram. The monthly Megarider can be purchased at South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive Travel Information Centres but is not available from the conductor. This ticket represents great value and is valid for one calendar month and is transferable.

There are no normal return fares for travel on Supertram. It may be that the Dayrider is the cheapest option if more than one journey is planned.

Event Return - £3.00
On event days at the Don Valley Stadium/Sheffield Arena a £3.00 return ticket may be purchased for travel between Meadowhall and the Arena/Stadium tramstop. Also if there is an event at the Sheffield Wednesday Football ground a £3.00 event return is available for travel between the University of Sheffield tramstop and Leppings Lane tramstop.
Sheffield Citywide
Citywide tickets offer unlimited tram and bus* travel within Sheffield and are available on tram.

City Switcha 60 - £3.50
City Switcha 60 is an adult single valid on Tram & Bus* operators within Sheffield. The last leg of the journey must be started within one hour of purchase. Travel towards the point where the ticket was issued is not allowed.
